From now in Solsona no removed emergence of night, although there are cuts

In the hospital of Solsona there are cuts in the last few days but there will still be emergency service night.

Solsona is one of the few neighbour towns that do not close the doors at night.

Albert Muntada, the president executive of the medical centre, said: in counties with a population as old as ours, the population mustn’t be compared to urban areas. This is the reason why the Centre Sanitari keep emergencies at night, despite cuts that are suffering most medical centres of Catalunya.

They also ensure enough coverage at the weekends.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY GATHERS MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE IN SOLSONA.

Ø In the town of Solsona, we will celebrate the Mental Health Day. It wants people to think about these people.

The World Mental Health Day is celebrated in Catalonia every year in a different town. This year we will celebrate it in Solsona. This day, the 8^th of October, there will be talks, events..., all because people think about these people. They think that there will be more than a thousand people from more than 50 associations.

The representative of the Catalan Federation of associations of families and people with mental health problems says that choosing Solsona wasn’t difficult because there is “Sol del Solsonès”, and they do a very good work for these people.

The elderly people from Solsona that have a level of independence enough to move have the chance to go to the dining room that the town hall prepared for the elderly people with the colaboration of Associació pro Minusvàlids de Solsona i comarca (AMISOL).

As the population of disabled people is growing ,the Mayor explains very well that the food that the elderly people are going to eat will be healthy and balanced diet, and each plate will cost 5,65 € and 4,5 € for the fix ederly.

Thanks to that initiative the elderly people are going to relate with other people from Solsona and they are not going to be at home bored. And they’re going to have three types of food:

POPULAR LONG WALK IN CANALDA

On Sunday 18th September they celebrated the popular long walk in Canalda.

It started at half past nine but some people started walking before the time because they were inscribed for the long walk. At eight o’clock some people started to walk.

This year there was fog in all the way. But all the people liked the beautiful scenery. The organization were very satisfied.

Last year there were 670 people and this year there were one hundred less. The older person was 80 years old and the youngest person was it’s 5 years old and his first tooth fell.

In the end the long walk all the participants have a small present. When all the people were at home it was sunny.

Two people arrested for drug traffic in Solsona.

The police of Solsona arrested two persons, one with twenty-six years old and the other of thirty-two years old, both residents of Solsona.

The past Thursday, at 20:15, a police team made an ordinary control of cars in 55^th road, specifically to Solsona town. The agents stopped a car occupied for two people that these showed an attitude very hesitant and nervous. The police examined the car and discovered a precision balance and a bag with twenty-five grams of cocaine in the seats behind. The police team arrested the car occupants for a crime against public health.

After of the arrest, the past Friday of September, the police realized a search in a detainees house. In a house of one of the detainee, the police discovered 197 covers for the cocaine distribution and the other residence of the detainee, the police time also discovered thirteen covers with nine grams of cocaine.

The past Saturday, the detainees passed at the judicial disposal and be release with charges.

200 “SOLSONINS” COME TO THE TOWN HALL SQUARE, BECAUSE ALL THIS PERSON HAVE THE SCHOOL IN CATALAN.

MUSHROOM FAIR IN SOLSONA

The next 21-22 and 23 of October will be celebrate the mushroom fair in Solsona.
During the fair there will be mushroom and artisanal products market where we will can buy and make some tastings.
There will be basketry demonstrations, mushroom expositions with sightseeing and different cooking and crafts infantile workshops.
Also there will be a dinner where the mushroom will be the main character. In this fair will there two competitions where the people can participate.
Most of events will do in Plaça Major, around streets and Town Hall.
Perhaps this year the fair will don’t have success because there are dry weather and little rain and mushrooms can’t grow.
This fair will be very exciting and with environment mushroom.

ACTIVITIES FOR OLD PEOPLE

When something works, it doesn’t sense to change it. This is the criterion that the councillor of Social Action in Solsona has to prepare twenty activities for the old people for the year 2011-2012. The offer with more people is physical activities with eight suggestions; crafts with six courses; new technology lessons with five activities and cultural and culinary workshops for men and handworks for women.

Most of the physical activities have a price, but there are some activities that are free like the walking group or the exercises in the Game Park and health in “Hort del Bisbe”. The crafts and some of new technology activities aren’t free. The culinary workshops, the handworks and the computer lessons are free.

These days the inscriptions are open in the morning in the Town Hall Social Services. Most of the activities start in October. This offer is for the people living in Solsona from 60 years old that are not working and the pensioners with health problems from 55 years old.

In “Camp del Serra” already you can see the big tent and the trailers that are part of the caravan “circ cric” this circus has stop in Solsona to make a show this weekend. “Els racons de la memòria”, of Tortell Poltrona and his band. They will be concert in 17^th of September at 6PM, and Sunday 18^th at a half past 2. This circus is popular in Catalonia it is working since 1992 and right now is still showing.

The day of his birthday The Castellers of Solosna they made 17 pillars that represented 17 years old; the 17 candle of Aleix Rivera’s birthday, Castellers of Solsona made a pilar of 4 too. - Puigcercós, was in Solsona last Wednesday. He talked about some situations that affect the city.

- First he said that there are Town Halls that are in crisis, so the Town Hall of Solsona don’t receive money for the school because with the cut, the Department of Education blocked us.

- The problem is that the students don’t fit into the school. And they need the money to enlarge the classes.

- The solution is that the politicians must explain this event to the other people from the other political parties and organise the budget to build Vinyet school and other schools that have the same problem.

Last Saturday young basket girls of the club C.B.Solsona played their first match with Cerverus Artés. For some of this girls it was the first match, some of that girls are so young or start playing basketball right this year so for them it was a little difficult. The match started with the older girls, because they started before the others.

They did a good match and they worked a lot in attack, they did good defence too but they had got a lot of ball possession. They have to practise the way to pass and throw the ball, it’s hard because they are so young but some of them have a good future in this sport. Maybe they are so small no one is very high so for them it’s not easy to trough the ball to the basket. The best thing of being small is that they can run a lot.

The best of the match is not who’s the winner it’s who has more fun. If you make a sport is because you love it and these girls have demonstrated that they were born to play this sport.

The pubilla of Solsona has got a title of countries lleidetanes; it is the fifth time in seven years.

April Fools’ day

April’s fool day is celebrated in different countries around the world the 1st day of April. It’s called All fools day, too. It isn’t a national holiday but is celebrated like a day when everybody prepares jokes.

In some countries, like Canada, New Zealand, the UK, Cyprus, and South Africa, the jokes are only until noon. If someone plays a trick in the afternoon is called an “April fool”. In other countries, like France, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Russia, The Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Ireland, Australia, and the U.S., the jokes are all the day.

Origins

Before April Fools’ Day existed, there were other similar celebrations like: Roman festival of Hilaria and Medieval Festival of Fools.

A French poet already talked about a poisson d’avril in 1508.

In the Middle Ages in France, New Year was celebrated during the last week of March ending on 1^st April. The people who celebrated New Year on January, laughed at those who celebrated on 1^st April. Many people think that this is the origin of April Fools’ Day in France.

Other people say that the origin of April Fools’ Day is because on the 21^st of March is the Vernal equinox, so it’s a time when there are a lot of weather changes and people is fool.

In other countries celebrate April Fools’ Day during other days. For example: Iranian celebrate Sizdah Bedar (1st or 2nd April), Spanish people celebrate the “Day of Holy Innocents” (28^th December).

Practise

During April Fools’ Day, children try to stick a fish made of paper at the back of adult people. In some countries children lock out their parents or teachers. In Korea, Fools’ Day is celebrated at the first snow day of the year.

Often also public services and the media, like TV, radio, journals, participate in April Fools ’ Day.

Serious and important activities, like the signing of conventions and laws, are often avoided or back-dated (dated before or after April 1).
