· The plot

A Jesuit priest goes to a territory where other missioners died. His mission is to make the Guarani become Christians. His only weapon is an oboe. With it he is accepted by the Guarani.

Rodrigo Mendoza, a person that takes slaves and he sells them, kills some Guarani. When he returns home, he finds his brother with his wife. Fool of rage, he kills his brother. Father Gabriel teaches him how to receive God’s sorry. He will take his guns and take it on his back. After it, Guarani forgive him.

In this time Spanish and Portuguese people dominate this country and they slave them. The Jesuits are the only one that defend them.

With other Jesuits, Gabriel and Rodrigo cooperate actively for the Guarani. When Guarani must leave because the territory must become for the Portuguese people, they refuse to leave with them. But Gabriel is ready to die with the Guarani and Rodrigo will defend the mission against the Portuguese army. All of them find the death. The Guarani must return to the forest.

· Personal opinion

I think this film is very beautiful, specially the music. I love this music. And I like the plot of the film, too because it explains that everybody can be apologised. And that the Guarani are convinced with only a flute and with the music. I like the place where it is filmed because these waterfalls are very beautiful.
